We hold several rendezvous throughout the summer, on EOMP's gold claims located Eastern oregon near Baker City area, where our members can learn different prospecting techniques and how to safely and effectively use different equipment such as a variety of Gold Pans, Spiral Wheels, Blue Bowls, Highbankers and Trommels. You don't have to own any equipment to participate, we provide everything and teach you how to use it! Members can listen to guest speakers on topics such as The Geology of Gold, History of Oregon's Gold Rush, How to dredge, How to read a Stream, GPS use and much more! Members may also participate in other activities such as speed panning contests, silent Auctions, weenie roasts and potluck dinners. Participating members split the gold recovered during the Rendezvous. |

*A Leprechaun Dig is designed to to help EOMP locate gold deposits on a new claim for future rendezvous, while at the same time allowing it's members to get together for a fun and educational day of prospecting. The fee is $10 per person. Potential sites are marked by the Claims Committee and randomly drawn by participating members. Using the old fashion pick and shovel method, each member works his/her area and keeps all the gold they find. Prizes are awarded for the most gold recovered.
